On Friday 25 February 2011, the A.I.M. Academy held a Self-Defence Workshop for some great kids from Young Carers Victoria, taught by Robert Halaijian & Kacey Chong.
The group included teenagers who provide significant care & support for a family member.
These teens face unique challenges & sometimes encounter bullying due to their circumstances.
The Self-Defence Workshop focused on practical skills and de-escalation principles, as well as building inner-confidence and strong self-esteem.
Everyone in the group worked hard throughout the session, and their team spirit was refreshing & fantastic to see!
Special thanks to Alexandra Athanasiadis of Carers Victoria Respite Connections for organising this workshop!
“Thank you for an amazing workshop! The young people are still raving about and can’t wait to do more! Thank you Kacey & Rob!”
